Dr. John Hart, PhD (he,him)

Dr. Hart has over 30 years experience treating obsessive-compulsive related disorders. Throughout that time Dr. Hart has been affiliated with The Menninger Clinic including the Menninger OCD Program, now the Houston OCD Program. Currently, Dr. Hart owns Behavior Therapy of Houston, does diagnostic consultations for Menninger, and consultation and specialty treatment at the Houston Methodist Behavioral Medicine Clinic. He has published several dozen research articles and has presented widely nationally and internationally on OCD and anxiety related subjects. He is a member of the The Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) faculty and board member of the Peace of Mind Foundation.

Katy specializes in supporting individuals suffering with OCD and related disorders as well as neurodiverse people. She also enjoys working with individuals and families experiencing behavioral challenges and/or life stressors such as grief and loss. Katy believes people with all abilities in all bodies deserve equal access to compassionate care, and strives to bring her allyship continuously in her work.

Katy is an advocate and cheerleader for compassionately tailored, evidence based practice including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and exposure response prevention (ERP). She commits to these empirically supported treatments with flexibility and curiosity for each clients own journey, fitting treatment to address the values, cultures, and needs of each person.

She has completed a number of advanced trainings in Applied Behavior Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Prior to beginning her graduate degree, Katy worked for several years in the development and marketing of local nonprofits and provided ABA services to neurodiverse early learners.  She is a published author on mental health narrative in one of the nation’s top rhetorical journals. 

Sebastian Washburn, LCSW

Sebastian is a therapist in Houston who specializes in working with OCD and anxiety disorders (including panic disorder), as well as depression, stress, and life transitions. Sebastian also has a wealth of experience working with people experiencing suicidal thoughts. He uses a combination of individual therapy techniques, such as ACT, CBT, DBT, and ERP, and leveraging external factors such as environment, friendships, and self-care activities to help clients live their most meaningful life.

Sebastian has training in several evidence-based treatments - CBT, DBT, ERP, and motivational interviewing.
